A lineup boasting celebrated TV broadcasters, an award-winning YouTuber, an actor activist, a cut-throat journalist, a South African rapper, and two local comedy giants promises an evening of uproarious entertainment.

At the helm of the Roast Master position are comedy heavyweights Tumi Morake and Jason Goliath, ensuring that the jests and jabs hit nowhere else but below the belt. The esteemed panelists include Trevor Gumbi, Shahan Ramkissoon, Celeste Ntuli, Lasizwe, Penny Lebyane, Da L.E.S, Siv Ngesi, and Robert Marawa.

Scheduled as the inaugural event of the much-anticipated Laugh Africa Comedy Festival, the Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini will be recorded live on April 5, 2024, and exclusively aired on Showmax from April 26, 2024.

The Laugh Africa Comedy Festival, in collaboration with Savanna and Showmax, promises three days of non-stop laughter from April 5th to 7th, 2024, at the Sandton Convention Centre. Featuring over 50 comedians across three genres – English, Vernacular, and Afrikaans, the festival lineup is a vibrant reflection of South Africa’s diverse comedy scene. Renowned and up-and-coming comedians such as Eugen Khoza, Alfred Adriaan, Chantal Jaxx, and many more will grace the stage, delivering side-splitting performances.

Eddie Griffin Comes to Mzansi

International comedy sensation Eddie Griffin, renowned for his electrifying stage presence and unique style, will headline the festival, performing on Saturday and Sunday evening. With a career spanning stand-up specials and over 50 film appearances, Griffin’s participation underscores the festival’s prominence on the global comedy stage.
